- Randy Kluver has an interesting response to my concerns about the evangelical meltdown. Sure, he says (and I'm paraphrasing), evangelicalism has been commandeered by wackos who care not a whit for doctrinal soundness or accuracy in their handling of Scripture, but how is that leading evangelicalism to a disaster? Randy also reminds me that assertion does not equal argument. Right. Got it. Thanks very much for the lesson in logic. Now here's my favorite bit (and this time I am quoting him verbatim): "Is Rick Warren's influence really that great, beyond his publishing statistics? Get real." Get real, indeed.
- Matthew Self thinks I might have been irritated because he tagged me with a quote-meme and I didn't respond. Not at all. I haven't responded yet, but that doesn't mean I won't. My problem is twofold: lack of time and lack of functional memory cells in my brain. I have a very hard time remembering quotes, jokes, anecdotes, appointments, names, faces, and numbers. So in order to come up with a useful list of favorite quotations, I would have to do some research I don't currently have time to do. But people are welcome to tag me with memes all they want, and I promise won't get irritated. Here's what I do with meme-tags: they go in the "to do" file, where they ferment under 1,379 unanswered e-mail messages currently awaiting a reply. As I work my way through all those messages, the memes may eventually see the light of day again. But by that time, everyone will have forgotten, and then it will seem pointess to do them at all, so I won't have to.

- Fred Butler wants your help in his pathetic and desperate attempt to get BlogSpotted. He works in the same building as me. You'd think he would just come by and ask.
- Mike Firzzel thinks I might be able to pitch better than the Cubs' bullpen. He should have waited till after the Cubs' series against the Cards before talking smack like that. Did y'all see how Neifi Perez hit that grand slam after the umpire tried to hand the game to the Cardinals?
- Gavin at "The Squawking Cockatiel" notices that his hit-counter went crazy after he was BlogSpotted. Cool.
- Matt Gumm gives a really good review to PyroManiac. "Seething volcano." I like that.
- Jonathan Moorhead explains why Tommy Tenney is no true evangelical, but wonders if Tenney, who calls himself "the Holy Ghost Arsonist," is any kind of pyromaniac. See Leviticus 10:1.
- Brad Williams is blogstalking me. I'm sure of it.
- Tim Ake wants to think about the Harry Potter question a little more.
- Curtis Richardson doesn't need to think about it (or post about it) any more.
- Patrick Ramsey and a few of my Sabbatarian friends were pretty unhappy with my remark about "Chariots of Fire." I want to encourage critics to listen to my series on the Ten Commandments before accusing me of "not believing in the fourth commandment." Perhaps someday I'll do a post dealing with the Sabbath, the Lord's Day, the fourth commandment, and the distinctions between moral and ceremonial law, in which I'll explain my position on "the Christian Sabbath." But not this week. In the meantime, remember my comment about Romans 14, and I promise I won't try to pick any fights on the Sabbath issue. (That's not what I was trying to do in the first place, either.)

Okay, you've got me. My name is Brad Williams, and I am a Pyromaniac addict. I like the discussion and your graphics are great.
I might add one thing though. It's sort of eerie the way you find we who link you. I know you haven't read Harry Potter, but if you had, it's kinda like when those characters say "Voldemort" and look around like he's going to appear. I think instead of "he who must not be named," you could be "he who must not be linked."
To be precise, although I can see how one may think the insinuation is there, I did not say that you did not believe in the fourth commandment. However, your dislike of Eric Liddell's strict sabbatarianism does show a less than robust biblical view. After all, application is meaning and meaning is application. So imho, your comment does reflect the fact that the fourth commandment has fallen on hard times, though not necessarily complete disbelief (in your case).
That's two blogspots in a row for me, and I was the one making fun of people who were brazenly attempting to get blogspotted. Is that a stoning offense?

It's weird, and I've also noticed it doesn't pick up other peoples sites that link to me.
boy o Boy I cannot get picked up by technorati on my shameless blogspot to Phil's site either.
Maybe it's the Lord's way of telling me I shouldn't be on the internet at work.

I must question your understandingof theological truth and its absoluteness based upon your completely postmodern way of looking at anything absolute.
Why are you a postmodern who has no understanding of absolute or objective truth?
You, my friend, are a Cubs fan. You see anything officials do that is based upon unbiased observation as tainted and against your precious worldview, which shapes your understanding of truth.
While the Cubs did win the game in a dramatic fashion, the umps did not attempt to "give the game to the Cards," only a postmodern looking through such lenses, based upon bias and desire (not obervation) would think that.
I now know you are just a Postmodernist like the rest of us.
There is no excuse for being a Cubs fan otherwise.
